About

Hey! Thanks for stopping by. My name is Leigh and I hope that I can entertain you and make you think a bit. I live in a small town in Maryland that is adorable. I have been here for my whole life. It’s one of the places where everyone knows everyone. When I was a teenager it sucked but now that I have kids it’s kinda nice. I am married to my best friend and I LOVE being married. It is so much more than I expected. Jimmy (my husband) and I have an interesting and beautiful love story that I will share eventually. I have 2 kids that are pretty rad too! The big one is 14 and the little one is 4. We are a pretty close family and try to spend time together and keep communication open. It’s not always pretty but nothing is.

I have been on a path now for about 2 years trying to figure things out. I was laid off of a job I had for 13 years in 2017. To say that this affected me is an understatement. It completely wrecked my world, my mental state, and my thoughts about what life should be. In hindsight, it was the best thing that ever happened to me. It shook me out of my complacent stupor and forced me to get uncomfortable. For 4 months I did the June Cleaver thing which was awesome! Stay at home parents are amazing. That shit is hard. Being a working parent is hard too. Just being a parent is hard. That’s a conversation for another time. I got another job, went back to school to finish my BA, and started trying to figure stuff out.

My dream has always been to become a writer. I find writing to be one of the most beautiful art forms. I love how words are so straight forward but the ideas and stories that they describe can be interpreted in so many ways. I get so much joy from reading and being inspired, entertained, and taken to other worlds. I hope to do that for others. I will warn you, I ramble a bit. I’m working on that so just hang tight.

Thanks for taking the time to check out my mind. I hope you enjoy it!
